As part of the 2025 Sustainability Awards, we are spotlighting the architects of a new Fashion & Apparel paradigm, brands that have successfully transitioned from the ephemeral cycles of fast fashion to a future defined by material permanence.
This year’s winners have demonstrated that the ultimate luxury lies in traceability and “closed-loop” innovation. These brands are proving that style is most powerful when it preserves the planet. By prioritizing ethical guardianship and inclusive, size-agnostic design, these brands are ensuring that what we wear is a true reflection of what we stand for, transforming the global wardrobe into a force for restorative change.
We are proud to present the 2025 Sustainability Awards winners in the Fashion & Apparel Category.
GOLD WINNER: Swole Panda
Location: East Sussex, UK Forumorsircular Accessories & Bamboo Bio-textiles
Website: https://www.swolepanda.com/
While the fashion industry often struggles to “walk the walk,” Swole Panda has sprinted ahead by turning environmental liabilities into high-end assets. They are the architects of the world’s first woven belt made from ocean-recovered plastic, utilizing REPREVE® fibers to divert over 1.1 million plastic bottles from landfills and marine ecosystems. By combining these recycled synthetics with Tanboocell™, an organically grown, FSC-certified bamboo that yields 10x more material than cotton per acre, they’ve created a closed-loop accessory line that is as breathable and durable as it is ethically sound.

Their commitment doesn’t stop at the product; it’s baked into their infrastructure. Swole Panda operates out of Flimwell Park, a pioneering, self-sufficient woodland headquarters. From using REFIBRA™ technology (upcycling cotton scraps from garment production) to ensuring 100% biodegradable packaging, they have effectively scrubbed the “fast fashion” out of everyday essentials like socks and underwear.

Standout Innovation: Successfully engineered a high-performance woven belt utilizing seven recycled ocean-plastic bottles per unit, paired with a carbon-neutral business model audited by the world’s leading climate certification programs.

Quote from Swole Panda: “After learning about alternative resources and sustainability at university, we decided to launch Swole Panda nine years ago with the aim of producing the best quality, longest lasting and most sustainable accessories possible.”
-Oliver and James Slacke, Founders

About Swole Panda: Launched nine years ago by brothers Oliver and James Slacke following their university research into alternative resources, Swole Panda was born from a singular obsession: finding the most sustainable materials on the planet. Dissatisfied with industry rumors, James personally traveled to the Jiangxi Province of China to audit every tier of their supply chain, from the raw bamboo pulp production to the final garment assembly, ensuring that “transparency” isn’t just a buzzword, but a documented reality.
